They continued: “It’s always a pleasure and joy to work when Mac is on duty, you are very highly thought of.”

Meanwhile, Dr James Lay was nominated for the support he provided for a midwife.

The nomination said: “James is a new doctor to the Trust and has been working in Maternity.

“He saw a midwife was struggling with something to set up online and he helped her to complete the task.

“Not only did he do this but he went out of his way to set up a guide to support other midwives with the task. Fantastic team working.”

James said: “Receiving this was very unexpected and I’m very happy to be nominated.

“Everyone here has been very supportive and I couldn’t imagine working with a more friendly team.”

Going The Extra Mile is an initiative designed to help staff highlight the incredible work that goes on in the Trust every day.
