What specific equipment or systems are currently in use within your hospital to prevent the release of infected air particles from infectious patients into other patient care areas?

How long have you been using these systems?

Which person or department within your trust is responsible for overseeing the budget related to infectious disease prevention equipment and procurement decisions?

1. Current Infection Control Equipment:

What specific equipment or systems are currently in use within your hospital to prevent the release of infected air particles from infectious patients into other patient care areas?

Negative pressure ventilation systems are used in side rooms where patients with known airborne infections are nursed. HEPA filter units are also used in some inpatient areas.

How long have you been using these systems? HEPA units were first installed in 2022.

Are there any specific standards protocols or guidelines that you follow when evaluating or procuring equipment to avoid air particle contamination between patients?

The Ventilation Safety Group oversees the procurement and management of mechanical systems which aim to prevent the transmission of airborne pathogens.
