– We ordered 16 Units of CRRT & PD ACCESSORIES CALCIUM INFUSION (NPC FHE167)

Total Spend £77,820 (inc VAT)

The total spend for all critical care areas (general critical care and cardiac intensive care) on CRRT procured by pharmacy  during 2018 was £90,303.49 (inc VAT).

This number includes the costs of all calcium gluconate and heparin supplied to critical care areas, but the proportion of this used for CRRT vs other clinical indications is undefinable.  It also does not account for use of normal saline used as ‘blank syringes’ as again this is unmeasurable.

Please also note that we only begun using citrate partway through 2018.
