Description

1. Please provide information on whether your NHS Trust currently employs any individuals for the purpose of ‘spiritual care’ and/or, ‘pastoral care’ – if applicable; please indicate which denomination each employee belongs to.
2. Please list the specific job titles and, salary figures (per annum or pro rota) for each respective individual; detailing which are part-time and full-time roles.
3. Please provide details on whether NHS Trust have a specific budget for the purpose of ‘spiritual care’ or ‘pastoral care’ and, if so, please detail the total amount (£).

Response

1. We employ 5 individuals for the purpose of spiritual and pastoral care. 4 currently in post and 1 is coming in to post – 3 belong to the Church of England, 1 is a follower of the religion of Islam, and one to the Catholic denomination.
2. They are all chaplains, 1 AFC Band 7, 4 AFC Band 6, 3 Full Time Reverends, 1 Part Time Imam and 1 Part Time Father.
3. Before 2017-2018 there was no specific budget, the year 2017-2018 the budget is £6245 excluding pay.
