Description
  1. I wish to know how much your trust has spent on specialist equipment for bariatric patients (patients over 160kg) during the last three years?
  2. Please give a breakdown of the type of specialist bariatric equipment used by the trust and the amounts spent, split between Rental Expenditure and Purchased Equipment?
    1. If equipment used is on a Rental basis, please specify if this was under a contract basis or ad hoc?
    2. If under contract, when is this due for renewal?
    3. If known, who is the contract with?
  3. How many bariatric beds does the Trust own?
  4. How many bariatric patients have been admitted to your hospital/hospitals during the past 12 & 24 months for all procedures?

  2. We use bariatric bed’s, extra wide dynamic mattresses commode’s and extra wide static and recliner chair’s. This is provided within a capped amount that sits under an existing contract – the additional spend on the contract is £13K Per year for any combination of equipment – it is not charged or split by product.

  4. We do not routinely record the requested data and to determine if we hold this information would require a manual trawl through paper records. This would constitute a disproportionate effort to retrieve and would exceed 18 hours. This information is therefore exempt on the grounds of cost (Section 12(1)).
