1. Is Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust routinely collecting data on secondary breast cancer?
2. If so, how many people were diagnosed with the disease within the Trust in the last twelve months (or for the latest period available)? These should include (a) those who were diagnosed with secondary breast cancer at their first presentation; and (b) those for whom their primary breast cancer has progressed and spread to other parts of the body. Please also include the time period this data refers to.

(a) Our system does not record if the code used for secondary breast cancer is used for the first time. However, during 2015/16 there were 114 patients with this coding who had not previously had the same coding in any of the available data going back to January 2009.
(b) Our system does not record if one admission is connected to another. However, during 2015/16 there were 44 patients with the secondary diagnosis who had previously had a primary diagnosis at some point going back to 2009.
