Clifton Hospital to hold special celebrations this summer

Clifton Hospital will be holding two special celebration events this summer.

The hospital, on Pershore Road, St Annes, is opening the second phase of the patient garden before holding an event to mark its 30th anniversary.

The new garden will be officially opened by comic and actor, Bobby Ball, on Friday, August 17.

It will be a special moment for Bobby  who, together with his friends and staff from Clifton, raised more than £30,000 to upgrade the outdoor space.

Bobby Ball and wife Yvonne produced a variety show last year at the Lowther Pavillion called Let the Sunshine In. This included famous faces from stage and screen and raised £30,000 through ticket sales, auction and raffle. Lots of generous businesses and locals helped the cause.

Bobby will be cutting the ribbon among a host of special guests at 2pm. All members of the public are welcome to attend to see the garden.

To mark the hospital’s 30th anniversary, there will be another open event on Friday, September 7 with cake stalls, raffle, DJ, exhibition and a staff reunion.

Anyone who has worked at Clifton over the last 30 years is encouraged to join in the celebration.

In the run up to the events, Clifton Hospital is sharing some vintage photos under the hashtag #CliftonHospitalat30.

You can find these on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/CliftonHospitalBTHNHSFT/ and Twitter: https://twitter.com/CliftonHospital?lang=en-gb. You can also share your own photos here too.

The celebrations are being supported by Atlas Management Ltd, a Blackpool-based healthcare facilities management and property solutions company.
