Community Services
The community Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy team work with children and young adults who have a neurodevelopmental or physical disability/impairment. Our team sees children in a variety of settings, including clinics, schools, nurseries or the child’s home, depending on the individual needs and agreed goals of the patient. Children may be referred to this service by Health Visitors, GPs, Paediatricians and other Consultants.
Our Paediatric Therapists use a range of approaches that are individually tailored to each child’s needs. This may include exercise programmes, postural management, bespoke orthotics, walking aids and/or other specialist equipment. Our Therapists work in partnership with parents, ensuring that they receive advice and support that enables them to support their child’s condition.
Occupational therapy can help your child to participate as independently as possible in the activities of everyday life. Physiotherapy is an excellent way of maximising a child’s abilities and gaining independence.
