Hospital Trust holds remembrance service for lost loved ones

Blackpool Teaching Hospitals and Blue Skies are holding a virtual remembrance service to commemorate the lives of those lost this year.

Their annual “Tree of Lights” Service usually takes place at Blackpool Victoria Hospital, however due to Covid-19, the service has been made available to watch online.

The Christmas season is often a time for thinking about friends and family, so the service offers a chance for people to celebrate and remember the lives of loved ones in a positive way.

There is also the opportunity to add the name of loved one to the Book of Remembrance, which will be available for viewing in the Main Entrance of Blackpool Victoria Hospital from January 2021. Alternatively, there is a “Virtual Tree” where you can leave a message, donation and/or a picture.

Head of Blue Skies, Kila Redfearn, said: “We know that this year has been an incredibly difficult time for many, and as much as we’d love to welcome people in person to our annual remembrance service, it’s sadly not possible. We hope that the service can bring a sense of peace to those who have lost a family member or friend.”
