Thanks to the incredible generosity of both staff and customers at The Castle Pub in Blackpool, we’ve received more then 1000 toys and advent calendars at Blackpool Teaching Hospital for Christmas!
Every year we kick off our Give a Gift initiative, ensuring that every patient waking up in a Blackpool Teaching Hospital on Christmas morning receives a special gift.
With ages ranging from 0 to 100 and covering more then 40 wards, this is no small feat! It’s made possible through the collective efforts of the general public, local companies and our dedicated staff. This year we are able especially proud, to have iconic Sandcastle Waterpark as our official sponsor too! Make sure you head to our Youtube to see our mascot, Bobbie bear and his good friend Bling the monkey from The Sandcastle Waterpark, in their heart-warming video!
We were thrilled to welcome Joe Curran from Care for Kids to our office recently. Care for kids have supported our Give a Gift initiative for many years, helping us ensure the children and families who will be brought into Blackpool Teaching Hospital over the Christmas period receive a gift.
Thanks to the unwavering support of the staff and customers of The Castle Pub in Blackpool, Joe and his colleagues were able to donate more then 1000 toys and advent calendars to us this year! The staff in our Children’s A&E department were blown away by the generosity of everyone involved !
Joe Curran commented,
“For many years Care for Kids has supported children within BVH and our communities who are sick or living in challenging circumstances. As a voluntary organisation we believe that no child should suffer with illness or have challenging circumstances and so through the donations we receive we like to make a change to a child’s life. By donating gifts it may help the children to cope with their situation” “Care for Kids are delighted and humbled to support children with illness who are visiting or staying within BVH”
