Become a Blue Skies Volunteer

Our Blue Skies volunteers do amazing work and we are looking for others to join the team. Volunteering is a great way for the community to get involved with their local NHS charity and help to enhance care for patients across Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre.
Our volunteers help in a number of ways, from assisting at pre-organised charity events, representing Blue Skies at awareness days, to helping us run our Shop & Trolley Service at Blackpool Victoria Hospital.

For most roles, a weekly commitment of a minimum of 3 hours is required but this can vary according to the specific volunteer role. Last year our volunteers clocked up an incredible 8,100 hours!
As part of the recruitment process you will need to complete an online application form through Voluntary Services. Then we will invite you in for an informal interview and introduce you to the charity/team.
We are required to seek Disclosure and Barring Services clearance (DBS) on all volunteers who, in the course of their normal duties, have access with children and/or vulnerable adults.
You may also be required to complete a work health assessment from the Occupational Health Department whose aim it is to promote and maintain the health of all people. Before health clearance is given for volunteering you may be contacted by the Occupational Health team and may need to be seen by an Occupational Health Advisor or physician. You may be asked to have a vaccination/s if required.
