Christmas wishes to all

AS we move towards the end of 2019, I wanted to personally thank each and every member of the Trust for your hard work, dedication and professionalism during what has been a challenging and busy year.

The Trust is a very special place to work and has experienced some challenging times over the past 12 months. Both the number of patients we treat and the level of illness we see, continues to rise, yet I never cease to be amazed by what you deliver.

We have experienced continued high demand but day after day you all make such a massive positive difference to our patients, their families and our communities.

From my time here I knew we have a very dedicated workforce and coupled with the service improvements we are putting into place I am confident that we can continue to deliver the very best care for our patients.

Throughout the organisation people have been working hard on transformation projects. There’s been a real emphasis on going back to basics with nursing care and a drive to improve quality, not just from our perspective but from the patients’ point of view.

We’ve still got ongoing challenges but I am totally confident that we will rise to these challenges and deliver the best care possible because we have a great team of people that work here and I’m looking so forward to taking us into 2020 and beyond. I am truly proud of each and every one of you.

If you ever wanted a reminder about the importance of the work you do please have a look at the letter we received this week from a young pupil called Marianne at a school in Carnforth thanking everyone for their hard work over Christmas. It was so lovely to read this.

For those who are working over the festive season – thank you for serving patients and the community at a time when others are enjoying a break.

May you all have a joyous Christmas with your family and your friends and I hope that 2020 brings you peace and fulfilment.
