Blackpool Teaching Hospitals is shortlisted for three top healthcare awards

Blackpool Teaching Hospitals has been shortlisted for three categories in the national HSJ Patient Safety Awards 2022.

These high-profile awards organised by leading healthcare publication Health Service Journal, recognises safety, culture and experience in patient care.

The shortlisted award entries were for the following categories:

  • Best Use of Integrated Care and Partnership Working in Patient Safety Award – Giving Back the Gift of Time – Improving the Last 1,000 Days of Life
  • Changing Culture Award in partnership with Nursing and Midwifery Council – Creating a Culture of Improvement
  • Deteriorating Patients and Rapid Response Initiative of the Year – Improving the Identification and Care of the Deteriorating Patient – A Quality Improvement Collaborative during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Katharine Goldthorpe, Associate Director of Quality Improvement said: “I’m extremely proud of the teams and individuals who have worked to continuously improve, even in the most difficult of times. We can now share that learning beyond our Trust, which benefits everyone. Well done to all involved.”

Trish Armstrong-Child, Chief Executive, added: “It is no easy task to be shortlisted for these awards and to get three categories is fantastic and a great recognition for staff.”
