Children who attend Blackpool Victoria Hospital’s Emergency Department over Christmas will receive a boost after a kind donation from a local group.

Members of Normoss Round Table Lodge donated more than 80 presents to staff this week to give to those youngsters unfortunate enough to be in the department this Christmas.

The group held a Christmas lunch recently and asked members to bring in wrapped presents and the response was excellent.

Peter Gunn, Charity Steward for the Lodge, said: “The A & E staff said the donation will make the children’s lives a lot more bearable on Christmas Day and Boxing day and might well bring a few smiles to some very young faces.’’

Sue Roberts. Clinical Matron, said: “We are extremely grateful to the members of the Lodge who have supported us. Their donation will make a huge difference.’’
