Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is looking to recruit three new Non-Executive Directors to its Board, one of whom must have a clinical background.
Previous Non-Executive experience would be an advantage but not essential. All applicants must reside in one of the Public Constituency areas outlined in the Trust Constitution and have a strong commitment to the NHS.
Trust Chairman, Ian Johnson, said: “We are looking for people with previous Board level, or equivalent, experience of one or more of the following – health care, social care, information systems, implementation of major strategic change projects.
“The Trust is currently reviewing the first year of its five year strategic plan and Non-Executive Directors are an integral part of an enthusiastic, transforming Board, taking an active involvement in implementing the strategy – keeping the patient at the heart of the Trust’s objectives so they receive the very best care possible.
“They will ensure that the Trust fulfils its ambitious vision and objectives, delivering best practice while acting as an ambassador for the Trust at all times – representing it where required – and acting as a Trustee for charitable funds.
“Experience of collaboration across organisations and building strong partnerships would be valuable. You will need to have the credibility to constructively challenge Executive Directors, Divisional Directors and other senior managers and have the experience and confidence to hold the executive management to account.
“It is also important you understand local health needs and have the drive to effect positive change, which you will achieve through collaborative persuasion and enthusiasm.’’
The remuneration is £13,312 per annum with a time commitment of around four days per month.
