Bank Holiday Monday at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals

The Trust is focused on preparations for the Bank Holiday on Monday and aims to continue with as much urgent clinical activity as possible for our patients who are scheduled to come in, whilst also supporting as many colleagues as possible to take part in this significant national event in our history and pay their respects to HM the Queen.

In particular we will prioritise emergency and urgent care as well as elective procedures and outpatient appointments which are urgent, or cancer/fast-track in nature.  Where possible these will continue on the day or will be re-scheduled within the week, patients will be notified of any changes.

We know some patients might not be able to attend their appointment because they now have caring responsibilities or difficulties with travel have arisen, where planned admissions or appointments are continuing we will be contacting everyone this week to talk to them about any issues they have to ascertain if they are able to attend.

Routine planned admissions and appointments have in the main been cancelled and these will be re-scheduled at the earliest opportunity, patients will have received, or will receive cancellation notices this week.
