We need YOU to help celebrate NHS70

On July 5, 1948, health secretary Aneurin Bevan launched the NHS at Park Hospital in Manchester (today known as Trafford General Hospital).

It was the climax of a hugely ambitious plan to bring good healthcare to all.

For the first time, hospitals, doctors, nurses, pharmacists, opticians and dentists are brought together under one umbrella organisation to provide services that would be free for all at the point of delivery.

Here at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust we are planning a set of events, exhibitions and recollections to celebrate this special anniversary.

We would love to include local stories, artefacts and equipment.

Can you help?

Do you know someone who worked at any of our hospitals at the start of the NHS?

Were you, or somebody you know, a patient then?

Would you like to share your memories?

If so, we would love to hear from you.
