Trust hosts training event for health professionals

A group of Occupational Therapists in the lecture theatre

The Trust’s practice education team hosted a successful education day for Allied Health Professionals (AHPs).

The team worked in partnership with local universities who assisted in running the event for AHP staff who are involved in educating students at university who are on placement at Blackpool.

Those taking part included Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists and has previously included Podiatry staff.

Stephanie Hodgson, Practice Development Facilitator, said: “We hold these events twice a year to provide support, education and networking opportunities to share good practice and raise standards in practice education and they are always well attended and well received.’’

The visiting lecturers were Greg Littler, Physiotherapy Lecturer from University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) and Liz Harrison, Occupational Therapy Lecturer from the University of Cumbria.

The next event will be held in October.

The facilitators at the event were Sam George (organiser), Stephanie Hodgson and Cheryl Jones.
