The Trust’s Library Service has booked its spot as one of the region’s best.

The service has just received its annual The Library Quality Assurance Framework (LQAF) accreditation score and has achieved 100% in its scoring for the first time.

Debra Thornton, Knowledge and Library Services Manager, said: “There are only 10 libraries in the North of England, out of 67 library services, that have achieved this top score and we are very proud of it.

“The LQAF is NHS England’s assurance programme for NHS libraries and requires us to show evidence of satisfying a wide range of criteria.

“For example we had to provide examples of how we support evidence based care and decision making, show how we provide resources, training and support for learners across the organisation and illustrate how we help create a culture of continuous learning and knowledge management.

“We are only a small team but we always strive for excellence and we are extremely proud to have scored 100%.

“It is a fantastic achievement.’’
