Find your nearest group to take part in #TheGreatBTHKnit

If you would like to join in #TheGreatBTHKnit to donate some knitted or crocheted poppies for next year’s WW1 Centenary art installation, we are urging knitting groups to get in touch.

We are compiling a list of locations for participants to join to knit poppies and make new friends.

Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust needs to make at least 30,000 poppies for an exciting project.

To mark the centenary of WW1, Blackpool Victoria Hospital has planned an impressive temporary memorial to be erected next November in the main entrance.

The installation will be interactive and used in a variety of ways to remember those killed or injured in conflict.

The poppies can be then be sponsored and a message left at the time of donation here: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/blackpool-teaching-hospitals. Messages will then be used in a lasting memorial. Money raised will go to the Royal British Legion

Please get in touch if you would like your group to be added to the list too: Alma.Stewart@bfwhospitals.nhs.uk
